ESRC Centre for Organisation and Innovation The ESRC Centre for Organisation and Innovation (COI) was a designated research body of the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council, from 1996 to 2006. The focus of COI’s research was on how work organisation affects employee well-being and performance, and how new technologies, techniques and management practices can be effectively applied. COI was part of Sheffield University’s Institute of Work Psychology (IWP), which continues to research many of the issues explored within COI, and others besides. For further information on the Institute, including current work of Centre members, see the IWP web site The final report of the Centre is now available.
